More About Shawn Belovich

Shawn is a recognized digital forensic, eDiscovery, and cybersecurity expert, having served as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the White House during his tenure at the Executive Office of the President (EOP) from November 2013 to July 2018. In this role, he was responsible for the global protection of White House information, information assurance, information governance, electronic records management, forensic and eDiscovery operations, cybersecurity, insider threat, data loss prevention, and internal investigations.

Shawn engineered and managed President Obama’s electronic data transfer program to accession Presidential Records to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), delivering a historic and unprecedented number of electronic records ahead of schedule and under budget. In addition, Shawn managed the development and implementation of the enterprise-wide privacy program and auditing processes, which have successfully reduced risk to the EOP. Additionally, Shawn was senior advisor for all aspects relating to electronic data, including technology planning and road mapping, Information Risk Management (IRM), technology policy, and data governance.

More recently, Shawn was a Managing Director and Partner for global consulting firms. He provided leadership and subject matter expertise to solve complex problems in the life sciences, healthcare, financial services, media, manufacturing, telecom, technology, logistics, private equity, and many other industries. He leads high-profile global forensic investigations, cybersecurity, incident and post-breach response, cyber discovery reviews, and international compliance monitoring matters. Shawn has traveled the world, leading workstreams for multi-year global compliance monitorships relating to U.S. export regulations and controls and Cryptocurrency. Additionally, Shawn has led a multi-year OFAC investigation as part of a cryptocurrency Monitorship.

Last but certainly not least, Shawn is an expert in post-breach response. His deep technological acumen is bolstered by real-world experience, which provides clients and their counsel the clarity and insight that they need during those difficult times. He has built programs that leveraged advanced technologies to streamline and improve incident and post-breach response, yielding more accurate information provided much faster and with less friction and cost.

He received his BA degree from Alvernia University and MS degree in Information Systems and Technology Management from Capella University.
