HAYSTACKID helps forge way for ACEDS New England Chapter
The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), an international membership organizations for legal, technology, records management and litigation support professionals in the public and private sectors, has announced that it will be opening a new chapter in the New England area.
How ACEDS helps;
ACEDS has set forth on a mission to help professionals in the eDiscovery market advance their careers, improve and certify knowledge and skills, increase contacts and strengthen the industry at large through better awareness and competence. The organization offers the Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) certification, which is a competency assessment that comes with superior integrity.
The group also helps in the community-building and networking portion of the market’s growth, holds and annual conference and offers plenty of news, research, analysis and other information related to the eDiscovery industry. For this reason, New Englands already blossoming eDiscovery market will get yet another push from ACEDS decision to open a local chapter.
A look inside the chapter;
The New England members’ chapter of ACEDS will be based in Boston and led by HAYSTACK Information Discovery’s (HAYSTACKID) very own Vice President of Client Services Jason Glass. Jason has previously headed business development for a global content and document management association, and has a strong track record of starting and improving groups and organizations.
Mr. Glass has assembled an exceptional core leadership group for the New England chapter, including:
- Betsy Daly: The Director of Global Information Risk Management and eDiscovery for Manulife Financial, Ms. Daly manages the team responsible for supporting the Legal, Compliance and Investigative Services groups for globally operating Manulife.
- Ellen Giblin: Ms. Giblin is internationally recognized for her legendary work in privacy, security, risk management, cyber and data breach, cyber security, and information management. She is currently the Privacy Counsel for the Ashcroft Law Firm, while her previous position was Privacy Counsel for Littler Mendelson.
- David Thomas: Mr. Thomas has represented clients in myriad complex matters in state and federal courts in the United States, and has an especially impressive track record with class-action defense and business disputes. He is currently a shareholder at Greenberg Taurig and a member of the global firm’s National eDiscovery Group.
- Richard Mathney: As Litigation Support Coordinator at Fish and Richardson, Mr. Mathney is a veteran of 10 years who is one of the greatest minds in daily eDiscovery workflow. As Fish and Richardson practices intellectual property law, and is one of the most sought-after firms for patent prosecution and litigation services among the nation’s largest companies, he will be an asset to this chapter and the New England eDiscovery community at large.
