HaystackID Introduces eDiscovery Pro Bono Program, Highlights Support of US Army Training with Industry Program

New pro bono program gives back to the legal community by providing eDiscovery expertise and support without fee or expectation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 14, 2019 – HaystackID, a specialized eDiscovery services firm that helps corporations and law firms find, listen, and learn from data when they face complex, data-intensive investigations and litigation, is proud to share our commitment to the legal professional community with the formal launch of the HaystackID Pro Bono Training and Support Program. The new program codifies ongoing HaystackID volunteer initiatives into a structured pro bono approach that provides qualified corporations, law firms, and governmental entities access to eDiscovery training and support without fee or expectation. Leveraging a recently announced Corporate Consulting Program along with a portfolio of Forensics FirstEarly Case Insight, and ReviewRight services, the HaystackID Pro Bono Training and Support Program is available today for qualified applicants.

“Developed to benefit those who may not have the means to enhance and expand their understanding and implementation of the latest in legal discovery trends, technologies, and best practices, our new pro bono program meets a growing community need by providing the under-resourced access to the very best in eDiscovery education and expertise,” shared Hal Brooks, CEO of HaystackID. “We strive to be leaders in the delivery of eDiscovery services and, just as importantly, we want to be compassionate in our concern and support of fellow eDiscovery professionals. This new program helps us practically apply our leadership in a way that benefits the underserved in our community, which ultimately benefits all of us in the eDiscovery ecosystem.”

The HaystackID Pro Bono Training and Support Program

Organized around the three discovery functions of collection, processing, and review, the new program is supported by a cross-functional team of experts in assessing, evaluating, educating, and advising legal professionals in areas to include:

+ The Legal and Defense of Process Considerations for eDiscovery
+ The Technology and Business Processes of eDiscovery
+ The Operations and Project Management of eDiscovery
+ The Forensics and Collections Processes of Data and Legal Discovery
+ The Legal Document Review Processes of eDiscovery

Using HaystackID’s Corporate Consulting Program as a model and expanding that model with pro bono training and support for eDiscovery services to include HaystackID’s Forensics FirstEarly Case Insight, and ReviewRight offerings, the HaystackID Pro Bono Training and Support Program has already been used to augment the discovery efforts of leading organizations and initiatives to include support of the US Army’s Training with Industry Program.

HaystackID and the Army’s Training with Industry Program

One example of the application of HaystackID’s pro bono efforts is the current support of the Army’s Training with Industry (TWI) Program. The TWI Program is a one-year work-experience training program designed to take selected officers out of the military environment and expose them to the latest commercial business practices, organizational structures and cultures, technology development processes, and most recent corporate management techniques. In 2019 HaystackID was selected and currently is partnering with the Army in the TWI Program to share eDiscovery expertise and experience with selected Army eDiscovery professionals.

The companies that partner with the Army in the TWI Program are developers of innovative, cutting-edge technologies and established business leaders in their respective fields. In addition to HaystackID, current companies participating in the TWI Program include Amazon, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics Land Systems, Sierra Nevada Corp, Cisco, CSRA, Boeing, Motorola, and Ford Motor Company.

“As the eDiscovery industry has grown and matured over the past decade, eDiscovery professionals in corporate legal departments, law firms, and service providers have become more focused on pro bono service,” noted Ashish Prasad, Vice President and General Counsel at HaystackID. “We are both excited and delighted to participate in industry pro bono efforts and especially gratified to be able to support great organizations like the Army with our new pro bono program. We look forward to continuing to give back to a community that has given so much to us.”
