2024 marked a significant chapter in legal technology, with innovation, cybersecurity, and data management taking center stage. January 2024 set the tone with bold strides in mobile device investigations and AI-enhanced cybersecurity. We launched the Mobile Elite Discovery and Analysis Lab (MEDAL) Suite, offering six services that reshaped mobile forensic workflows. Tools like MEDAL Vanguard™ and MEDAL Precision™ provide rapid, remote triage and precise data extraction, while MEDAL Clear™ unlocks secured devices for legal review. These advancements underscored our commitment to addressing the challenges of mobile discovery in an increasingly remote and mobile-first world.

That same month, we expanded our Protect Analytics AI® Suite, introducing capabilities like AI-driven Sensitive Data Identification and Entity Extraction. These tools empower organizations to manage sensitive information during investigations with greater accuracy and security. This flurry of innovation culminated in recognition at Legalweek 2024, where Protect Analytics AI® for Relativity earned the Leaders in Tech Law Award. HaystackID also received recognition as a finalist in the E-Discovery Technology category for the HaystackID Core® data discovery management platform.

Expanding Horizons with New Offerings and Thought Leadership

In March, we introduced the M365 with HaystackID® Suite for Microsoft 365® Services, a comprehensive solution designed to optimize Microsoft 365 environments. As businesses increasingly rely on cloud platforms for collaboration and data storage, the suite addresses critical needs like archive migration, data loss prevention, and records management. It also prepares organizations for the rollout of tools like Microsoft Copilot, ensuring they remain at the forefront of digital transformation.

This period also saw our team leveraging their expertise to engage in conversations and platforms to further the market’s understanding of emerging industry trends. Insights from industry leaders such as HaystackID CEO Hal Brooks and John Brewer, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and Chief Data Scientist, captured attention in publications like Legaltech News and ComplexDiscovery, emphasizing AI’s ethical and practical implications in document review and cybersecurity.

Throughout 2024, HaystackID’s thought leadership shaped industry discourse. Team members appeared on podcasts such as the EDRM Illumination Zone. Our experts led educational webcasts on topics ranging from CFIUS reviews to balancing ethics and efficiency with GenAI in legal practices. Articles like “Gen AI Helped Me Write This Article: Does That Matter?” challenged conventional views on technology’s role in content creation, sparking meaningful dialogue.

A Summer of Recognition and Collaboration

By mid-year, our efforts garnered further accolades. In June, Chambers USA recognized HaystackID in its 2024 Litigation Support Guide for our innovative eDiscovery solutions. HaystackID Vice President and General Counsel Ashish Prasad received a Band 1 rating, affirming his leadership in the field. This rating marked the seventh time Ashish has been recognized in the guide.

TikTok U.S. Data Security Inc. (USDS) enhanced the security of its users’ data and protection against cybersecurity threats by appointing HaystackID and OnDefend as Independent Security Inspectors for USDS, with additional support from Mandiant Consulting. This partnership highlighted our pivotal role in ensuring data integrity for high-profile platforms, reinforcing our standing as a trusted advisor in the cybersecurity space.

August saw the launch of Core Intelligence AI™, our generative AI (GenAI)- powered eDiscovery tool that automates complex tasks and enhances efficiency. Later in September, the integration of Core Intelligence AI™ with Relativity aiR for Review further streamlined document review processes, ensuring precision and speed at unprecedented levels. These advancements exemplified HaystackID’s drive to deliver practical AI solutions that address real-world challenges.

Building Trust, One Certification and Milestone at a Time

After achieving HITRUST r2 Certification for our in-scope platforms in July, we continued to double down on our commitment to data security as the year wound down. In early fall, we maintained our Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type 2 certification for the fourth consecutive year, another milestone in a series demonstrating our dedication to data security and privacy across the organization. Additionally, we added SOC 3 certification, designed for a broader audience, to our growing list of security certifications.

This fall, there was no rest for the weary innovative. In October, HaystackID introduced the Remote Endpoint Analysis and Data Intelligence (READI™) Suite, which enables remote digital investigations—a crucial capability in an era of distributed workforces.
