In legal technology and client services, few names resonate as strongly as Adam Rubinger. As the Chief Client Experience Officer at HaystackID, his journey from a tech-savvy law school graduate to an industry leader showcases a unique blend of innovation, critical thinking, and dedication to client service.

After graduating from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, Adam chose an unconventional path. Instead of pursuing a traditional legal career, he founded EDSS, Inc. in 1996, a scanning and coding technology services company focusing on the litigation support industry. This decision marked the beginning of his journey in legal technology, though it didn’t immediately remove him from traditional legal work. “I got my fair share of paper cuts wading through mountains of banker’s boxes,” he recalled, highlighting the hands-on experience in document discovery that informed his later innovations.

Despite veering from the typical legal career path, Adam found his law school education invaluable. “Law school is not just about memorizing the law,” he said. “It trains you on how to be a critical thinker and writer, and that education has carried me throughout my career.” This blend of practical experience with his litigation support and the analytical skills honed in law school proved a powerful combination, setting the foundation for his unique approach to legal technology and client service.
