The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 Midyear Meeting 2025

September 11, 2025 - September 12, 2025

The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 Midyear Meeting 2025

Artificial intelligence (A) is reshaping how legal systems operate, forcing courts, regulators, and lawmakers to grapple with questions that didn’t exist a decade ago. When algorithms make bail recommendations, when AI generates contracts, and when autonomous vehicles cause accidents, traditional legal frameworks struggle to keep pace. Who bears responsibility when a machine learning model exhibits bias? How do we ensure due process when decisions emerge from black-box algorithms?

The Sedona Conference Working Group 13 Midyear Meeting brings together legal practitioners, technologists, and policymakers to wrestle with these emerging challenges. Rather than offering easy answers, this gathering focuses on identifying the right questions and fostering substantive debate about how law must adapt to technological reality. HaystackID® EVP of Legal Data Intelligence Esther Birnbaum is a dialogue leader at the event, where attendees will explore how legal systems must adapt to ensure justice, transparency, and fairness in an era increasingly shaped by intelligent machines.
