This intensive, two-day training program is designed specifically for members of the federal judiciary and will take place on November 15-16, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells in California.

Considerations for Privilege Logging & Redacting

The creation of a privilege log and privilege redactions are arguably one of the most expensive components of discovery and can lead to costly disputes amongst the parties. Nevertheless, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and FRE 502 both anticipate the use of automation and categorical logs. This session will explore how parties can streamline this process. Panelists will also provide a demonstration of how a privilege log is created using technology and an update on the Rules Committee’s consideration of new rules to address these issues.
