Post Breach Response – Demystifying Data Mining – Addressing the Challenges in Identifying Data Subjects and Building Out the Data Breach Notification List
September 17 at 3:15-4:15pm
One of the most challenging aspects of Post Breach Response is Data Mining. Although a rather simple concept, it is anything but simple in practice. Data Mining is the workflow to identify the individuals who will need to be notified due to a data breach. Generally, this is not incident response, nor is it eDiscovery – as such, we will explore the considerations for security practitioners, inside and outside counsel, as well as our privacy and compliance professionals. This session will highlight the challenges encountered when creating a company’s notification list, as well as mitigations to combat these challenges to reduce the company’s risk.
