Join HaystackID and a panel of experts for this informative panelist discussion on the E.U.’s General Data Protection Act and what it means for companies that hold E.U. Citizen data.

Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL.  The Union League Club of Chicago requires a dress code of business casual or better.

A lively discussion will be held covering many aspects of GDPR.  Attendees will be an afforded the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.  Event registration begins at 11:30AM with lunch served immediately.  The discussion will begin around or shortly after noon.  The even should wrap up around 1:15PM.

The event will be video recorded and will be moderated by HaystackID’s CISO Lee Neubecker, assisted by Mike Sarlo, HaystackID’s Vice President of eDiscovery & Computer Forensics.

Lee Neubecker, CISSP, MBA

Before joining Haystack, Neubecker launched, grew and sold a successful computer forensics expert witness firm, Forensicon.com. Neubecker holds the prestigious Certified Information Security Systems Professional credential and has had his testimony accepted and upheld on complex litigation involving the misappropriation of trade secrets litigation matters. Neubecker is a licensed professional investigator in his birth state of Michigan and has led many complex financial, RICO, counterfeiting and white collar criminal investigations. Neubecker has assisted law firms and their clients in responding to suspected data breach matters and has assisted companies with mitigation and response to data breach incidents.

Before starting and growing Forensicon in to a national computer forensics firm, Neubecker oversaw product development and incident response to security events with then leading search engine, Lycos.com. In Neubecker’s role at Lycos, he oversaw product development and hosting initiatives across online interactive products such as chat, games, and various messaging platforms.

Neubecker serves as a Commissioner for the River Forest Economic Development Commission in his domicile of River Forest, Illinois and enjoys time with his family, playing the piano, and socializing with friends and family. Mike Sarlo

Michael D. Sarlo is the Vice President of eDiscovery and Digital Forensics of HAYSTACKID LLC.

In this role Mr. Sarlo facilitates all operations related to electronic discovery, digital forensics, and litigation strategy both in Untied States and abroad, while working on highly complex forensic and e-Discovery projects. He has full oversight of all facilities, and manages workflow and change management to ensure consistent quality and efficiency of all processes for each project entering Haystack’s walls.

Mr. Sarlo is an expert in cross-border matters and EU data privacy concerns. His expertise in information governance combined with a unique understanding of the challenges that clients face when dealing with inside counsel, outside counsel, and information technology has driven rapid growth within Haystack while concurrently extending the operational and strategic reach of US clients with international concerns in an evolving data privacy environment.

A certified and highly credentialed forensic examiner possessing exceptional subject matter expertise in all types of computing devices, software, and operating systems, Mr. Sarlo continues to find new methods of reducing costs from e-Discovery projects, ultimately improving the outcome for corporate and law firm clients. He also leads the Haystack development team in crafting unique and award-winning data review applications which address specific and costly review pain points, including cellular device review strategies and workflows for protecting personally identifiable information.

Andy is the President of Secure Compliance Solutions, a cyber risk advisory and managed security services firm serving the Chicagoland area. Andy brings 20+ years of subject matter expertise, directing information security compliance, IT Governance, service delivery and optimization initiatives. Prior to co-founding SCS, he served as the CIO/CISO for an emerging financial services firm that contracted for the US federal government. At SCS, Andy guides clients through design of HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX and GDPR compliance programs, utilizing best practice frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO2700x) to align cybersecurity strategy with business objectives, risks and contractual obligations. He helps clients develop security and data privacy programs; through risk management strategy, policy development, implementation of technical solutions, and security education.


Deepali Doddi, JD, CIPP/US, CIPP/E

Data Security & Privacy Attorney with Ice Miller LLP

Deepali Doddi is an associate in Ice Miller’s Data Security and Privacy practice. Leveraging her experience as a former regulator with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Deepali counsels clients on all aspects of HIPAA compliance, including uses and disclosures of health data, policies and procedures, business associate agreements, breach response, risk analysis and management, and audit preparation.

Deepali also regularly assists clients in a wide range of industries with issues arising under federal and state data security and privacy laws and regulations, including COPPA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GLBA, CalOPPA, the FTC Act, DFARS, and breach notification laws. She further advises on risks related to privacy and data security in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Additionally, Deepali helps clients navigate international data privacy matters, such as certifying to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, selecting appropriate cross-border data transfer mechanisms, and complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and e-Privacy Directive. Deepali is both a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

 


Paul McGrady, JD

Partner and Internet/Intellectual Property Attorney with Winston & Strawn LLP

Paul’s cutting edge practice is at the intersection of intellectual property and the Internet. Paul recently was interviewed by HaystackID’s CISO Lee Neubecker on the impact of GDPR related to Online Trademark Infringement Litigation.
Paul represents large brand owners, including new gTLD registries, in their domain name and ICANN matters as well as brand-friendly registrars. Paul served a critical role in the strategy and negotiations which led to ICANN’s adoption of “Specification 13” in which ICANN finally recognized the unique role and responsibilities of brand registries. Paul serves as the GNSO Councilor for ICANN’s Intellectual Property Constituency and is active in the ICANN policy development process. His experience includes domain name disputes, domain name transactions, the creation of new top-level domain names, CAN-SPAM disputes, Computer Fraud & Abuse Act disputes, online copyright and brand identity disputes, and transactions and counseling related to intellectual property aspects of social/mobile media. Paul has successfully handled more than 500 proceedings under the Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Procedure (UDRP). He has also handled multiple litigations brought under the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA) and successful actions under foreign domain name dispute policies. Paul serves as the Chair of the Internet Committee for the International Trademark Association. Paul is the author of three books, all published by LexisNexis: McGrady on Social Media, McGrady on Social Media Aspects of Employment Law, and McGrady on Domain Names.
In addition to his Internet focused work, Paul McGrady works with some of the largest brands in the world on adoption, prosecution, licensing, and enforcement of trademarks in the United States and throughout the world.
