Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon environments per documented SOP.
  • Oversee SAN (Alletra / Nimble) and NAS (Qumulo) storage management, including disaster recovery planning and execution leveraging both on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Configure and manage FortiGate firewall rules, including VPN setup and deep packet inspection.
  • Implement hybrid deployment models that extend on-premises networks to the cloud.
  • Act as an escalation point for the IT support team and third-party vendors.
  • Identify and develop automation tools (e.g., PowerShell scripts, Python-based automation).
  • Collaborate with the security team to address cyber threats proactively.
  • Create and maintain SOPs and system architecture documentation.
  • Mentor and train junior IT staff.
  • Automate daily tasks using PowerShell scripting and Windows Services infrastructure.
  • Manage data center operations including rack space, cabling, power, security, and PDUs.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) across Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Assist in compliance and security audit documentation and evidence gathering.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in monthly weekend maintenance work.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, and/or 7+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in IT infrastructure, data center operations, networking, storage, and security.
  • Experience with multi-tier system architecture and deployment.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into system architecture.
  • Hands-on experience managing hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in enterprise-class hardware, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of SAN technology and DR solutions.
  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills (including GPO design and maintenance).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Python scripting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking ability and independent decision-making.
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Azure (Administrator, Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer)
    • MCITP, MCSA, MCSE, O365, VMware, Cisco

Compensation

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000
