SUMMARY:The Sedona Conference Working Group 11 Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:HaystackID is proud to partner with The Sedona Conference as a Working Group Annual Sponsor for the Virtual Working Group 11 Annual Meeting on April 14-15\, 2021\, from Noon-4:00 pm EDT each day. \nThe meeting’s primary focus will be on new brainstorming group outlines in need of WG11 member review and comment\, including the following topics: \n+ Interpreting and applying “risk-of-harm” triggers in breach notification statutes\n+ Privilege Commentary\, Second Edition \nIn addition\, the meeting will feature the following sessions: \n+ Federal preemption of U.S. state privacy and data security statutes: What are the dividing lines?\n+ COVID-19 related data collection and processing:  Navigating the potential conflict between public health needs and privacy and data security mandates\n+ What are the legal and policy bases and considerations for and against outright bans of facial recognition technology?\n+ WG11 town hall \nThe mission of Working Group 11 is to identify and comment on trends in data security and privacy law\, in an effort to help organizations prepare for and respond to data breaches\, and to assist attorneys and judicial officers in resolving questions of legal liability and damages. The Working Group will develop best practices drawn from civil litigation arising from data security and privacy violations\, legislative governance of data security and privacy\, and regulatory enforcement of data security and privacy laws\, in order to help organizations take action before and after a data breach to minimize their legal exposure\, to inform affected parties of their rights and responsibilities\, and to assist in the coordination of regulatory\, law enforcement\, and judicial responses to data breach and related incidents. \nHaystackID welcomes the opportunity to discuss your current challenges\, how they impact your organization\, and how we may be able to help you solve those challenges.
