SUMMARY:The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 Midyear Meeting
DESCRIPTION:HaystackID is proud to partner with The Sedona Conference as a Working Group Annual Sponsor for the Virtual Working Group 1 Midyear Meeting on April 28-29\, 2021\, from Noon-4:30 pm EDT each day. \nThe meeting will feature six sessions\, including the ever-popular Case Law Review and Judicial Roundtable\, as well as a social reception hour to facilitate the networking and camaraderie that is a staple of the WG1 community. Confirmed topics include: \nWednesday\, April 28: \n+ Case law review\n+ Brainstorming Group update: The Privilege Log: What’s Working\, What Isn’t\, and Approaches to Modernize it\n+ Brainstorming Group update: Preserving and Collecting Data from the Internet of Things\n+ Social reception \nThursday\, April 29: \n+ Judicial roundtable\n+ Drafting Team update: Best Practices for Uniformity in Filing ESI Under Seal\n+ Recruiting\, Retaining\, and Promoting Diverse Talent in eDiscovery \nThe mission of Working Group 1 is to develop principles\, guidance\, and best practice recommendations for information governance and electronic discovery in the context of litigation\, dispute resolution\, and investigations. The group released the first public comment draft of The Sedona Principles in March 2003\, and the impact was immediate and substantial. Within a few weeks\, The Sedona Principles was cited by the Civil Rules Advisory Committee Discovery Subcommittee as one of the reasons to focus on possible amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure\, and it was cited in the seminal Zubulake case in the Southern District of New York. Since then\, WG1 has published updated editions of The Sedona Principles and several companion works\, including guidelines for electronic document management\, and authoritative glossary of e-discovery and electronic records management terms\, several commentaries on e-discovery related topics\, and cooperation guidance for trial lawyers\, in-house counsel\, and the judiciary. \nHaystackID welcomes the opportunity to discuss your current challenges\, how they impact your organization\, and how we may be able to help you solve those challenges.
